Ajna

Ajna is sanskrit for the third eye chakra. Your third eye awakening comes along with a deeper sense of intuition and self-realization. As I deepen my journey into that knowing, endless hours are spent at my meditation altar in my ceremony space. The art reflects the energetic awakening of the ajna chakra. This is a ceremonial scent that includes all the things I may burn on my altar (frankincense etc.) or oils that are resting on my altar. The main focus is frankincense, an ingredient I began to fall in love with years ago and bought every type I could find, from every source I could find. I got the best of the best. There is certainly an emphasis on Royal Green Hojari. I used it in all its forms. Essential oil, absolute, CO2, tincture… i even captured its smoke with a special contraption i made that collect lots of smoke over hours of burning, and infuse alcohol with it.

A heavy dose of Hindi Oud and Mysore sandalwood in the base.

Supporting florals of Rose, Blue Lotus, Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Jasmine Grandiflorum, and White Champaca.

The citrus quality of the frankincense is boosted with lime, green mandarin, and bergamot.

Spikenard and tobacco add a nice kick.

A large amount of the diluent is New Zealand White Ambergris tincture, which is the only animalic musk used in this scent. Most of the rest of the diluent is various frankincense and resin tinctures.

The result is celestial and uplifting.
